Dighton Neighborhood Info

Dighton is a town located in Bristol County, Massachusetts. It is bordered by the cities of Fall River and Taunton and the town of Raynham. According to the 2020 census, the town’s population is 8,126. Dighton was first settled in 1627 and was officially incorporated in 1712. The town is named after Frances Dighton Williams, the wife of one of the original settlers.

The town of Dighton is home to a number of historical landmarks like Coram Shipyard Historic District, Dighton Community Church, 1798, and Dighton Wharves Historic District.

Dighton is a fantastic place to stay if you like outdoor activities. The Dighton Rock State Park is a popular spot for hiking and picnicking. The park has the Dighton Rock, a massive boulder covered in what is believed to be petroglyphs left behind by Native Americans. The rock is currently on display at the nearby Fall River Heritage State Park.

Sweets Knoll State Park is another great spot for hiking, fishing, and picnicking. The park is also home to the Dighton Public Library, which was built in 1892.
